The Compaq StorageWorks 64-Bit PCI-to-Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapter is a high-performance PCI option module that connects to devices attached through either a hub-based optical Fibre Channel arbitrated loop or a switch-based optical Fibre Channel fabric. The Host Bus Adapter supports only short wave multi-mode connections. This high-performance I/O solution is for use with applications such as client/server configurations, database I/O environments, multimedia applications, and imaging technologies. Each of these requires high-level throughput with low-latency characteristics.
The Host Bus Adapter is qualified for Tru64 and OVMS platforms configured with the Compaq RA8000, ESA12000, Compaq Enterprise Backup Solution (EBS) offerings, Compaq 7 and 12 Port Fibre Channel Hubs, and Fibre Channel Switches and Fibre Channel SAN Switches.
