Cisco’s Catalyst 6000 Family Fast Ethernet switching modules offer a number of advanced features that make it easier to migrate to or implement a Fast Ethernet network. The 10/100 Fast Ethernet switching modules, for example, support autosensing/autonegotiation to determine the speed and duplex mode of the attached device. This Fast Ethernet switch module supports the telco RJ-21 interface. Customers can use category 3 through category 5 UTP cable or STP cable or multimode fiber (62.5/125 micron). All Fast Ethernet switching modules are hot swappable without interruption of the Catalyst 6000 Family switch. For maximum investment protection, the modules can be easily upgraded to provide inline voice power, via a daughter card, for a seamless solution in voice and data integration.
